Course Overview
The Culture area of the Montessori curriculum introduces children to the world around them through meaningful, hands-on experiences. It integrates Zoology, Botany, Geography, Science, Environmental Awareness, and Cultural Studies to help children understand nature, appreciate diversity, and develop respect for all living things.
At KPI Nepal, trainee teachers learn how to present cultural materials using authentic Montessori methods. The course emphasizes observation, exploration, classification, language development, and scientific thinking, enabling children to become curious, responsible, and globally aware individuals.
Course Objectives -Upon successful completion of this course, trainees will be able to:
Understand the importance of Cultural Education in the Montessori curriculum.
Present Montessori cultural materials confidently and accurately.
Develop children's awareness of animals, plants, geography, and the environment.
Encourage observation, classification, comparison, and scientific inquiry.
Enrich children's vocabulary through the Three-Period Lesson (3PL).
Foster respect for nature, cultural diversity, and environmental conservation.
Prepare engaging culture-based lesson plans for preschool classrooms.
