Subject: Mathematics (Montessori Method)
Course Overview
Mathematics in the Montessori method introduces children to numbers and mathematical concepts through concrete materials before moving to abstract thinking. The curriculum enables children to develop logical reasoning, concentration, independence, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of mathematics.
This course prepares trainee teachers to present Montessori mathematics materials accurately and confidently while understanding each child's developmental readiness.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, trainees will be able to:
Understand the Montessori philosophy of mathematics education.
Present Montessori mathematics materials correctly.
Develop children's number sense through hands-on learning.
Teach counting, number recognition, quantity, and place value.
Introduce the decimal system using Montessori materials.
Teach the four fundamental mathematical operations.

A. Introduction to Numerals (1–10)
Children first learn the relationship between quantity and numeral using concrete Montessori materials.
